Description
Root is a single probe that reads everything a plant actually cares about: capacitive soil moisture that will not corrode the way resistive probes do, ambient light, and temperature.
It stacks onto the Sprig-C3 and reports into Home Assistant through ESPHome, so you can graph a fern’s week or trigger a pump through a Thorn when the soil dries past a threshold you choose.
Designed to sit in a pot for years — which is why the sensing is capacitive and the board is conformally treated where it matters.
